blousy dame

I came to this page from my bookmarks, half expecting to see an update...Ha!
We're watching 30 Rock again this week. Jenna seems to have a new wardrobe of fabulous silk blouses in the third season. It's like watching Mad Men- I end up gasping over the clothing, rather improbably so for 30 Rock!

Check out Liz Lemon's bag- I think I've exclaimed over that one on 3 separate occasions. Fortunately, I have already sated that need, having ordered a similar one from Golden Vintage last week... and some lovely shoes...

ah...sigh...I love Marni, but she is so out of my price range. I'm in love with this dress on ebay, but I think maybe I could make it, with the right luxurious fabrics. I can't seem to find the sort of light, ephemeral silk I crave though...

Where does this recent obsession with black and navy blue come from?

Mmmm... a very nice haul of ebay finds arrived today. Perfect blue and white soft leather oxfords, a pink pin-tuck wiggle dress (not quite enough wiggle room at the moment- there's a spring incentive for me!) and on Friday a deliciously severe sexy secretary dress. I'm in heaven.

A couple of busy days later... So we finally watched Tron the other night- what an amazing spectacle. Too bad the story doesn't really make a lot of sense. It's fascinating how they look towards the future possibilities of computer graphics, but have to make them using traditional animation techniques and matte painting!

The fashion is pretty clunky, but that's quite charming. However the neon deco patterns of the set design are stupendous! Most of the fashion out there on the internet is pretty lame or too literal. What would Marni make of Tron, with the bright colours and clashing lines? The challenge is out there! I also found this link to designer Louise Goldin for spring 2008 ...
