wearing o'green...
I'm not a huge fan of St. Patrick's day- in these parts it just means downtown sounds and smells like some particularly nasty bar experience for several days. I still don't understand why so many families come out for the parade, when the streets smell like beer and puke and cigarettes. ugh...It's the beer tourists that make it so distasteful (lower drinking age, oh yeah...)
That being said, I will never shy away from any and all opportunities to revel in green! Um, maybe I should just try some absinthe, hey?

I forgot to wear green yesterday! Did you know there was an irish dancing Flash mob in sydney the other day (its on youtube somewhere)? Too bad i wasn't there - i prefer something like that than drunken parades!
ReplyDeleteCrowded areas with loud, drunk, stinky people isn't really my cup of tea either. I'm being super lazy and hanging out at home (although I did wear green today). Love you top, and shoes, of course!
ReplyDeleteA new green tradition--absinthe! In my hometown, add underwear on the outside to the mix of beer and cigarettes.
ReplyDeleteheh...maybe we should all run off to Ireland for the holiday- I bet it's less obnoxious!
ReplyDeleteYou'd like the Absinthe House in my old stomping grounds: http://www.boulderabsinthehouse.com/
ReplyDeleteNot being Irish (well, I'm Northern Irish and we all know that doesn't count) and not drinking, St. Patrick's Day has never held any great appeal to me. Your shoes, on the other hand...
ugh Absinthe is the grossest thing ever, at least it rivals the bars on st. pattys day. I wore a bracelet of green? I guess I'm a scrooge about color holidays, I rarely participate. I love you outfit, the top is great!
ReplyDeletecute shirt (and shoes)! i was a bit lazy for st patrick's, i wore a green plaid shirt and my green pumas.
ReplyDeletei've never tried absinthe, i am kind of scared! (but the stuff available in america is probably really watered down, anyway)
Absinthe is so potent!! I'd stick to just enjoying the high that comes from really awesome green shoes!! :)
ReplyDeleteEW! Absinthe is Nasty! I tried it only once. It burned and tasted like Licorice. Did you know Marilyn Manson makes his own? And I agree, St. Patrick's day over here means downtown full of drunks. So we stay in. But I did have my green dress on :) I really love your blouse. The Jeans and the shoes especially are great. It's nice to see someone other than me likes Blue Jean skirts :) Great outfit Sarah. <3
ReplyDeleteLovely shirt!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried absinthe. Am I missing something wonderful? Apparently not, according to the comments here. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your vintage Swedish blouse!
