more monochromatic!

I've been enjoying dressing rather monochromatically lately- it's fun to wear mostly one colour and throw in something unexpected to activate it!  Not unexpectedly, J Crew is pretty awesome for that... (Emma Pillsbury's secret is revealed!)

I ended up submitting another attempt at monochroma (?!) to Amy's outfit sets today at Kelinda.Kelinda-  see some more colour play!
Cardigan, skirt, tights, top: J Crew, shoes: Indigo
Liz Claiborne check shirt, B.B Dakota shift dress, UO belt, Ash booties
 And this lovely blazer came in the mail today- it's perfection, and feels exactly like my mom's old blazer I loved so much in high school that somehow got lost when I went away to University...I love the striped lining that shows through on the cuffs- I already had the striped top on!  Thanks Sandy!

    I didn't recognise the Kindred Spirit dress until i saw the specs! It looks really good with the blazer over it and i love how you layered it with a striped tee under. I have the dress too, and it never occurred to me to layer a top underneath. I will have to try that in winter!

    I am IN LOVE with the first Picture OMG! You can throw any color in there with these two. Love it. And The Kindred Spirit dress does look good with the blazer. Great ideas :)

    The first 2 pics are simply PERFECT. hope you don't mind my saying I think that full-circle skirts or anything similar are maybe not the best choice for your body shape (neither for mine :). If you try with A-line skirts with less accented waist?

    You should submit one of these looks to Amy K's "Breaking the Rules" series! I love these looks. Monochromatic outfits look so classy and structured. The Kindred Spirit dress looks so cute on you...how funny that we wore it the same day!

    you do this look so well ~ i love it. and i'm so jealous over your blazer! i've had the maddest crush on it for so long but never pulled the trigger...mostly because i feel like i already have so many jackets that don't get enough love from me as it is. it looks fantastic on you! ~ susan

    I thought I commented already -- clearly my mind is gone, agh! But I seriously, seriously love these. The one with the B.B. Dakota shift dress is my favorite, but I also am so enamored with a good blouse-under-shift-dress ensemble and you wear yours so well!
